Harry Potter Studios Tour : A Magical Wizarding Experience!
Are you a true Harry Potter fan looking for an unforgettable day trip? Then a visit to the Harry Potter Studios Tour in England is an absolute must! This magical experience, officially known as the Warner Bros. Studios Tour: The Making of Harry Potter, takes you behind the scenes of the iconic film series. You’ll get exclusive access to the original film sets, props, costumes, and unique behind-the-scenes details that offer a deeper insight into the world of Harry Potter.

Where is the Harry Potter Studios Tour located?
The Harry Potter Studios Tour is located in Watford, about an hour’s drive from central London. Many visitors combine this tour with a stay in London, making it a perfect day tour during a London citytrip. The tour itself lasts about 3 to 4 hours, excluding travel time to Watford.

Tickets and reservations
Tickets for the Harry Potter Studios Tour are only available through the official website. Prices start from €50 for a standard ticket and from €100 for a ticket that includes round-trip transportation from central London. I would advice to book well in advance, as tickets often sell out months ahead!

What can you expect?
During the tour, you’ll explore the famous Great Hall of Hogwarts, Diagon Alley, the Forbidden Forest, the Hogwarts Express at Platform 9¾, and much more! You’ll gain a unique insight into how the magic of the films was brought to life, with impressive special effects and visual masterpieces. There are also several interactive elements, and you can even take a broomstick ride using a green screen!

Food, drinks, and souvenirs
Throughout the tour, you’ll find various spots to enjoy food and drinks. A must-try is the iconic Butterbeer! There is also a large souvenir shop where you can buy everything from wands and scarves of your favorite house to exclusive movie merchandise. Tip: The color-changing mug is a fun souvenir to buy, but it’s not dishwasher-safe! (I found out the hard way)

Tip: A visit to Oxford
Want to make your magical experience even more special? Combine your visit to the Harry Potter Studios with a trip to Oxford! This historic university city is just 90 km from London and features several filming locations from the movies, including the iconic Hogwarts staircase and the Bodleian Library, which served as the Hogwarts library. Personally, I found Oxford a beautiful town to explore — it’s a idyllic historic town and even though it’s pretty small, it was well worth the time.
The reason we went to Oxford is because we bought our Harry Potter Studios tickets just a few days in advance and it was hard to find available tickets. Luckily, we managed to get tickets that offered a combined tour to both Warner Bros. Studios and Oxford. This ticket option is less popular, so therefore it’s often still available. After exploring the Studios, you continue with a guided walking tour of Oxford — a perfect way to end the day if you ask me!

Why Visit Harry Potter Studios Tour?
The Harry Potter Studios Tour is a must-visit for fans of the popular books and movies. With the additional option to visit Oxford, you can make the experience even more special. Be sure to book your tickets well in advance and prepare for a magical day full of wonder and nostalgia!
